Update from Styles of Beyond.
Whats up SOB Solja's!!?
Here's a quick little update for ya. Even though things have been frustrating for us the past couple months - trying to clear up these samples, and perfecting our upcoming album "Rocket Surgery", believe it or not some good things have happened. First, thanks to Mike Shinoda and his amazing production, our song "Second II None" has become a staple in the licensing world. We were very fortunate to get it placed on the Transformers movie, even if it was only for 1.6 seconds. Now, we have it in the trailer of what looks like could be the biggest comedy of 2008. It's the new Adam Sandler movie "You Don't Mess With Zohan" which should be coming out around June. You can check out the trailer at the link below, and "Second 2 None" (or "S2N" for all you internet savvy heads) is sandwiched in there about half way through. Here's the link:
Also, our favorite producers, drinkers, and cigarette smokers, Cheapshot & Vin Skully have been hired to score an upcoming A&E television show currently titled "LA Gang Unit." They just completed the pilot which will air in April 2008. Picture "Cops" on Acid...or "The First 48" on crack...or "Dog the Bounty Hunter" on PCP (minus the rascist phone messages)...or "Dallas SWAT" on heroin...or "Grey's Anatomy" on coffee...wait, that last one doesn't work, but you get the idea! Anyhoot, the show looks sick and the music they created is even sicker...so keep your eyes on the boob-tube for more info. Here's a little industry blurb about it if you'd like to get a little taste:
Along with all this, we're still putting the finishing touches on the album...and just tried out a new song with our old pal Sixx-John. It's coming together very nicely. Thanks for reading. Have a very safe and dudical holiday season! See you in 2008!

Update from Styles of Beyond.
Whattup SOB Heads!
Sorry for the delay on keeping everyone updated. We should've wrote a blog after we returned from Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour, but we hit the studio hard upon our return. In short, the tour was fun, extremely drunk times, but performing on the second stage early in the day with hangovers and being the only hip-hop group on a festival tour was new for us and a bit unexpected. Thanks to everyone who made it out, and for all those who received the Razor Tag Mix CD, we hope you like it and aren't using them as beer-coasters!
Anyhow, we've sorta been on a never-ending run of bad luck lately. We truly thought that we were done with our forthcoming album "Rocket Surgery", but we got hit really hard with the business end of things, which we've never really had to deal with before - mainly sample clearances. The album was supposed to drop in June '07 origjnally, then it got pushed to September '07, and with the last denial of a very important sample, it now looks like March of 2008...and even that can still change. However, one thing we can assure you is that we're one group that would never short-change our fans. We take a long time to complete albums (check our track record - "2000 Fold" 1998, "Megadef" 2003), but it's only because we want to make sure that every song is a classic...and even as this album evolves with new songs, the album continues to get better and better. We've mentioned collaborations we've done in the past, but because of the drama a lot of those songs got cut...so this time around we're not going to mention who's gonna be on "Rocket Surgery", but it's sure to be hot. Also, we have a lot of amazing footage from tour that we've finally converted and waiting for some editing to be done so we can throw that shit on Youtube!
We thank you for being so patient with us, and always feel free to message us here on Myspace if you have any questions. We get lots of mail but we do our best to reply to everyone we can. I guess the last bit of excitement that's going on with us is that one of our old songs got picked up to be featured in the trailer of the upcoming movie "Hitman". Hope you like it. Thanks again for sticking with us, and we'll try and keep the updates coming!
